Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers - was born on July 8, 1989 in Paris. When she was just five years old when she left for Oxfordshire and enrolled in the Dragon School. Emma's ambition was to become an actor. At the age of 6, she enrolled in the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch and took lessons on singing, acting, and dancing. As early as age ten, she took part as the lead in several Stagecoach Productions and School Plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000), the film adaptation from J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was cast for the very first time back in the year 1999. Emma was initially discovered as a casting agent by her Oxford teacher of drama. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been picked for these roles. The cast included Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first film appearance was made with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). It broke all records in beginning-day and weekend-opening sales and was the highest-grossing film in 2001. The film was praised by critics, as were the performance of three new starlets. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British paper, called Emma's performances "amazing". Emma later won five awards for her performance in the film.
